Mirrored Systems Act I

NONAPS was selected for the Village Artist in Residency program with the Asian Art Museum during the summer of 2018. This was the first of three installations delivered over the course of the residency. A sea of reflective tubes occupied the site as urban playscapes and furniture pieces. As users crawled under tubes that criss crossed overhead, new environments and interior conditions were revealed prompting further exploration. Participants could observe themselves and their surroundings from a new perspective through the distorted mirrored surfaces. An irresistible spatial experience was created, encouraging people to reflect on their creative place in a city that grows more orderly and sterile everyday.

The materials used were 2 mil MET PET/LLDPE tubing, 2 mil mylar film, sonotubes, packing tape, and artificial grass.
